YOUR ROOFING EXPERIENCE The following is what happens during the re-roofing process. *Obtain a roofing permit. *Remove existing roofing, tar paper, vents, lead boots, drip edge and dump debris. *Re-nail the plywood to the roof trusses, as per code, with #8 penny ring shank nails, 6 on center. *Install a new secondary water barrier of modified bitumen with an adhesive backing; AKA peal and stick, install new drip edge, new vents and new lead boots on the plumbing roof stack vents. *We then install a 30 year dimensional asphalt shingle from one of the following companies: GAF Timberline, CertainTeed or Tamko. All of the materials we use are building code approved by the State of Florida and also by Miami Dade County. *There are two roof inspections: one half way called the in progress inspection and then the final after the roof is complete.
