While Don spent 18 years working at Schaefer's Lumber then another 4 years with Rima's, Sharon was spending her time selling real estate and insurance. In 1996, they decided to jump in with both feet and bought a lumber yard in Moscow, Id. Selling building materials by day, delivering those same materials in the evening and packing sheetrock in-between, the business started to grow.It grew enough to hire more employees, some with lumber yard experience and others with experience from the contracting, landscaping and other sides of the building industry to help make "Customer Service When You Walk In The Door" a reality. Of course, it also meant that they were outgrowing the small lot on 7th so, in 2003 they purchased land on Hwy 95 South and built the building that houses the present store. Just to keep things lively, in 2005 they bought a lumber yard in Colfax, Wa. In 2014 they closed the Colfax Store. An opportunity came up and in March of 2014 they found a building, remodeled it, and opened a lumber yard in Lewiston. And so the adventure continues. While some of the staff may look young (and some not so young), as a total we have 100+ years experience.When you look at the longevity of the staff in Lewiston it only shows how long they have been with JJ Building Supplies.
